MARKET UPDATE 8TH APRIL 2014

Great buy for customers this week with Crimson Seedless Grapes, a grape that is fast becoming the preferred red seedless grape due to their exceptional shelf life.

Not far behind for great value are Rockmelons with their sweet refreshing taste.

New season Mandarines have arrived as have good quality Chestnuts.

Williams Pears (new season) are excellent quality and value.

Seedless Watermelon is good quality
From the Deli at Fred’s One Stop customers will appreciate the lower price this week of Soccerball Ham – great on sandwiches or with salads.

Telegraph Cucumbers the longest and thinnest of the Cucumber family, with its deep green grooved skin, white inner pulp and sweet tasting seeds make the ideal accompaniment to any salad

Cauliflower, Broccoli and Broccolini are now all at their best!

Washed potatoes (Desirees / Cocktail) are very scarce due to crop damage in South Australia. Brushed variety (from Victoria) is much better value and very good quality at the moment.

While Butternuts have been tending to cut hollow, Jap and Grey pumpkin varieties remain very good quality.
