MARKET UPDATE 22ND APRIL 2014

On special this week at Fred’s One Stop are Chestnuts, which unlike other nuts, are relatively low in calories and contain less fat. They are lush in minerals, vitamins and phyto-nutrients that may benefit you and your family’s health

Imperial Mandarins as always, are easy to peel and very sweet tasting, making them a favorite snack with the entire family

Well priced also are the large Granny Smith Apples with their sensational acidic and tangy flavor thus making them one of the finest cooking apples available. When fully mature, the sweetness level of this very popular apple increases dramatically

In the vegie department this week at Fred’s, Red capsicums are the go!

Red Capsicums come from the same plant as the green one, with red capsicums allowed extra time on the plant to develop their color. We are fast approaching the time of the year when they are most commonly used in stir-fries, casseroles and salads

Tomatoes as with last week, are well priced and quite tasty!

The staple winter vegetables such as Cabbages, Broccoli and Cauliflower are in good supply hence prices are also good.
