Market Update 21st January 2014

WHEN HOT BECOMES TOO HOT!

With temperatures climbing to 40 degrees in the western suburbs of Sydney, customers are advised to not buy too far ahead especially in regards to the softer vegie lines.

The supply of vegies from our local growers however, is less affected

SO WHAT’S GOOD TO BUY?

Snake Beans will be at their peak this week with Snow Peas doing well also.

Mushrooms make for great eating as do our Spring Onions

As for the fruit, you can’t go past Rockmelons; a fruit that thrives in the summer heat.

Grapes and Berries make for good eating however the supply of nectarines in the markets, is down this week

Navel Oranges imported from the US have flooded the market hence the fall in prices which needless to say, is great news for our customers

And for the Plum lovers out there, the plums get better and better this time of the year. So go for it!
