White and yellow-fleshed Australian grown Peaches are now available now at Fred’s. 

Whilst Strawberries taste divine when eaten just on their own, they also team well with Cream or Chocolate!

Supplies of Lemons are finishing up and the Passionfruit Season is yet to start hence the rise in prices. 

Asparagus from Victoria has an exquisite flavour, is very versatile and has a fast cooking time. Use Asparagus in Risottos, blanch and add to Salads or toss through Pasta Dishes. 

Globe Artichokes are a stunning vegetable with a unique, sweet and subtle flavour. Boil trimmed Globe Artichokes until tender then, slice and combine with Diced Tomatoes, Baby Bocconcini, Parsley, Pepper and Olive Oil to serve with crusty bread. 

Be sure to snap up some Classic Zucchinis this week. For something different, slice and marinate Zucchinis in Soy Sauce, and grill at your next barbecue. Zucchinis can also be added to a stir fry, grated and baked in a cake or added simply added to a Frittata. Alternatively, Yellow Zucchini have started their season and will be around for approximately 3 months. 

Fennel, with its delicious Aniseed flavour and crisp texture, adds vibrancy to Spring Salads. With virtually no fat and few kilojoules, Fennel tastes refreshing raw or cooked. Pop a bulb of fennel on your shopping list to enjoy with char-grilled Tomato, Salmon & Fennel Salad 

Versatile Green Beans are an Aussie favourite! Note that the Stringless Bean only requires the stems to be trimmed prior to cooking when they are best cooked rapidly in order to retain their delicious crunch and vibrant colour. 

Radishes crisp texture and mild mustard flavour adds a delicious burst of flavour and texture to Spring Salads. Choose from Classic round and elongated Red and White Radishes.

Baby Carrots also sold as Dutch Carrots are sweet, juicy and a great buy at Fred’s. 

Delicate Zucchini Flowers with their bright-golden petals are at their best in Spring. The female flower has a tiny Zucchini attached, whereas the male flower has a thin stem.
