Following several years of research on the antioxidants found in Blueberries and also their prospective benefits for the nervous system and brain health, there’s exciting evidence that blueberries could actually aid in improving memory.

In a study including older mature age adults (typical age of 76 years), 12 weeks of stringent daily blueberry consumption was sufficient enough to improve scores on the two tests carried out on cognitive function including, including memory. While participants in the study consumed blueberries only in the form of juice, one kilo of blueberries were used to make each cup of juice. As each participant consumed between 2 to 2 1/2 cups each day, their intake of blueberries was very high.

Studies have also suggested that blueberries might also become helpful in the improvement of memory, but also in slowing down or postponing the onset of other cognitive issues frequently related to ageing. Even if only half of the research is true, then it is certainly worth a try….
